It worked pretty well on my stitches as well as on the surrounding skin when it got itchy from the bandages. I also used this on some skin that was irritated from too much sunlight (borderline sunburn, I guess). This product provides almost instant relief.
This Aquaphor "Healing Ointment" was provided to me by a woundcare doctor that was treating me for a fairly rare skin condition, called "Pyoderma Gangrenosum" (warning, don't look that up on a full stomach), that leaves large thin skin scars when it heals. The scarred skin is easily damaged and needs to be protected, which Aquaphor does much better than anything else we have tried. I started using it when I had a face peel for skin cancer it was pretty rough and raw the doctor told me to get Aquaphor and you will not believe how fast my face healed and a slick as a babies behind too. This is a great product. I have used it ever scene for my and hands or any place you need to put lotion to relieve the redness of irritation.
